WATCH: No Pandas? No problem. DC’s National Zoo shines brighter than ever this season

The absence of pandas this holiday season hasn’t dimmed spirits — or the lights — at the Smithsonian National Zoo.

In this edition of “Matt About Town,” WTOP’s Matt Kaufax visited the District to see the animals at night as hundreds of thousands of bulbs lit the way.

Watch the video of Matt’s evening tour, and hear from guests about what to expect from the 500,000+ light display:

ZooLights will be back for its second weekend starting this Friday, and it runs through the end of December. Tickets are $6 for anyone over 2 years of age this year (in previous years, ZooLights has been free), and hours will be extended the closer it gets to Christmas. More details can be found on the zoo’s website.
