The Range Rover Sport is the more playful version of the stately Range Rover luxury SUV. With slightly less off-road aspiration and more on-road driving dynamics, the Range Rover Sport has stepped up its game lately with a big makeover.
Styling
It starts with sleek styling from the redesign in 2023. It’s not as tall as the big Range Rover, however, it shares more of the look of its pricier big brother. The Range Rover Sport has a lower roofline and its new front fascia is rounded and softer presenting a nice, modern take. Choosing the SE Dynamic trim level with the blacked-out trim pieces and black wheels makes this Range Rover Sport look rather racy for a SUV. The expressive LED taillights and the blacked-out panel help this large SUV seem smaller.
Driving experience
Most Range Rover Sport models come with a turbocharged six-cylinder engine between 355hp and 395hp that will please most buyers. A revised plug-in hybrid with more power than last year’s V-8 is available in the Autobiography trim level.
But if your heart is set on V-8 power for 2024, there is a new SV version with 626hp that should get your heart pumping. No matter which version you choose, the driving experience is elevated and more luxurious than before. It does a better job of soaking up bumps than it does flying around corners. Its softer suspension means there is more body lean than some other SUVs, but it’s a comfortable cruiser, not something that could always be said about past versions.
Interior design
The Range Rover Sport ups its luxury game with an improved interior from previous versions. Better materials with upgraded leather and even the trim pieces are vastly improved. Its more inviting and comparable to the pricier Range Rover. While space isn’t as cavernous as the big Range Rover, the Sport still has good space. It lacks headroom due to the lower roofline. The tech gets upgraded with bigger screens and the touch screen is easier to use than in the past.
