Matt About Town: Trigger your brain’s ‘feel-good hormones’ at this Md. pop-up event

Go inside the pop-up, multisensory experience that is 'Dopamine Land'

It’s a multisensory experience dedicated to unlocking your happy brain.

In today’s episode of “Matt About Town,” WTOP’s Matt Kaufax heads just down the block from our WTOP studios to check out Dopamine Land on Wisconsin Avenue in Chevy Chase, Maryland.

Combining media, technology and play, the mission of Dopamine Land is simple: trigger your brain in various ways to activate that euphoric chemical and leave you with a smile.

The attraction, put on by the global entertainment company Fever, runs through April and is comprised of 11 different rooms.

Immerse yourself in a mirrored, neon-lit room filled with string lights, a zen-like decompression room with a bamboo forest, or a sensory room that tests your senses of touch, smell and taste. You can also participate in a shadow puppet show in an Alice in Wonderland-themed room, have a pillow fight with friends, or head to the “Bubble Bar,” where you can try a calming aromatherapy oxygen treatment.

Come along with Matt on his tour of Dopamine Land and find out why more than 250,000 guests across multiple continents have already checked it out — and tapped into their inner child’s imagination.

If you want tickets to Dopamine Land, head to the Dopamine Land website.

You can also get tickets, and check out several other secret (and not-so-secret) pop up events in D.C. on Fever’s website.

‘Matt About Town’ airs every Tuesday and Thursday on WTOP, and runs throughout the rest of the day on 103.5 FM. His video pieces are always posted on WTOP.com.
